Passports, Visa & Travel Documents

Viking will send you a number of notifications via email as your departure date nears, including your booking confirmation, payment receipts and, if you purchased your air travel from Viking, logistical information about your air travel and transfers. You will also receive links to short cultural videos that illuminate your destination, a link to your itinerary’s thoughtfully curated reading list and filmography, and other information that complements your journey. Be sure your email account is set up to receive communications from Viking so that these messages can find their way to you.

Obtaining Your Travel Documents

Visa

If you are traveling with us to China, Russia, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey or Southeast Asia, you will need a visa. As a service to guests, visas are available from an independent third party upon request. If you would like to obtain your visa through our partner, please visit their website and download a visa kit. Complete and return the forms to the visa company in a timely manner so that you will have your documentation in time to travel. The timing is explained within the kit instructions. Should you decide to obtain a Russian visa directly instead of using the kit, you will need to contact Viking Cruises for an Invitation Letter using the link provided. Anyone who wishes to obtain their own visas for Southeast Asia should make sure to get a single-entry visa for Cambodia and a double-entry visa for Vietnam (Vietnam and Cambodia e-visas may not be used with this itinerary). This will enable travel to Vietnam, to Cambodia and back to Vietnam during the course of the itinerary. US citizens who are visiting Turkey for less than 90 days can get an e-visa for Turkey at www.evisa.gov.tr for $20 (US currency). It is also possible to get a visa at the port of entry from a visa kiosk for $30. However, the Turkish government encourages travelers to obtain their e-visa prior to traveling if at all possible. Note: Viking River Cruises accepts no responsibility for obtaining required visas nor for advising guests of visa or other immigration requirements.
