Day 1 - Bangkok

Fly to Bangkok and transfer to your hotel. Depending on your flight’s arrival time, you may have time to tour some of the various wats (monastery temples), explore Chinatown or shop at the Phahurat Market, also known as Little India. A Viking Host is available to help you plan your time in Bangkok so you can make the most of your visit.

Day 2 - Bangkok

Today, tour Bangkok’s Grand Palace. Dating back to the late 1700s, this walled complex, featuring golden pagodas and spires, has been the royal family’s main residence for more than 150 years and houses the entire administrative seat of government. Venture through Bangkok’s Chinatown to Wat Pho, known as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha. Take the rest of the day to shop; Bangkok offers everything from colorful open air markets to some of the most sophisticated shopping malls in the world. (B)

Day 3 - Bangkok

Today, discover Bangkok’s Grand Palace. Day 2 - Ha Long Bay

After breakfast, ride through the rich farmlands of the Red River Delta, with its terraced rice fields, water buffalo and lush greenery. Board a traditional wooden junk for your Ha Long Bay cruise. Enjoy lunch while learning about the bay’s features, history and ecosystem, as well as the legends that surround its various rock formations, islets, caves and grottoes. Day 3 - Ha Long Bay & Hanoi

One of Humankind’s Most Magnificent Temples

Explore the crown jewel of Khmer architecture, the 12th-century temple of Angkor Wat. From Siem Reap, journey to one of the world’s most important archaeological sites. Built for King Suryavarman II, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is the largest, best preserved and most religiously significant of the Angkor temples. See the delicate artistry, intricate stone carvings and beautifully proportioned layout of this impressive Khmer structure. Enter the central sanctuary and take in breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. Later, explore the fortified city of Angkor Thom, home to several of Angkor’s most popular sights.
