About Nijmegen

About 150,000 inhabitants currently occupy Nijmegen, Holland’s oldest city. Nijmegen was founded over 2,000 years ago by Roman Emperor Trajan to protect the border of the Roman Empire. The city’s role in World War II is highlighted by many of the sites around town as well as explained in depth in the local museum. Other points of interest include the 16th-century Town Hall and lovely St. Stephen’s Cathedral.
