Explore the heart of Europe as you embark on a 15-day adventure that traverses the legendary Danube and beautiful Main and Rhine Rivers. Your journey takes you through the incredible Main-Danube Canal, which allows continuous navigation from the North Sea to the Black Sea. Cruise through some of Europe’s loveliest countryside to historic regions of Austria, Germany and Holland. Enjoy the breathtaking landscapes and fine wines of Austria’s scenic Wachau Valley, the dazzling elegance of Vienna and the Old World ambiance of Amsterdam. In Cologne, visit the city’s monumental Gothic Cathedral. Discover Nuremberg’s World War II history, and explore the famous wine-growing region along the Moselle River. Round out your cruise with a tour of the beautiful baroque abbey at Melk.

Day 1Amsterdam

Welcome to Amsterdam. We will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your ship.* After boarding, enjoy free time and get acquainted with the city. (D)

Day 2Amsterdam

See breathtaking views on a cruise through Amsterdam’s canals, then visit the Van Gogh Museum. During free time, enjoy the sights or tour a diamond factory. Dine aboard and cruise through the night. (B, L, D)

Day 3Cologne

This afternoon’s walking tour takes you through Old Town on the way to the magnificent 14th-century Gothic cathedral. Visit a brewery and sample Cologne’s local beer, Kölsch. Free time in town. Return to your ship for dinner and late-night cruising. (B, L, D)

Day 4Koblenz & Cochem

Enjoy free time in Koblenz to explore the town’s ancient market square, medieval churches and neoclassical architecture. Return to your ship and cruise to Cochem, where you sample fine wines. Ship docks overnight. (B, L, D)

Day 5Cochem

After breakfast, join a walking tour through this gem of the Moselle Valley; see its medieval town gate and marketplace. Then, enjoy a guided tour of Reichsburg Castle and admire the scenery from its hilltop location. Return to your ship for lunch and evening cruising. (B, L, D)

Day 6Bernkastel & Koblenz

Today’s tour takes you along this village’s cobbled streets to the Vinothek, Wine Library of St. Nicholas Hospital. Here you will sample some of the 160 different wines from the Moselle and Saar Rivers’ wine-producing region. Eat lunch aboard and enjoy scenic cruising. After dinner, arrive in Koblenz for an evening of wine-tasting. (B, L, D)

Day 7Mainz

Take a walking tour of Mainz. Visit the Gutenberg Museum, chronicling the history of printing. Visit St. Martin’s Cathedral or explore on your own before returning to your ship. Dinner aboard followed by an evening departure. (B, L, D)

Day 8Miltenberg

Arrive in Miltenberg and set out on a tour of Amorbach Monastery. Enjoy this quaint Franconian town with its many timber-framed houses and cobblestone streets. Dine aboard and cruise through the night. (B, L, D)

Day 9Würzburg

Board a motorcoach for a full-day excursion to Würzburg, a charming Franconian wine town. Explore the Bishops’ Residenz, featuring paintings and frescoes by Italian painter Tiepolo, followed by lunch in a local Franconian restaurant. On the way back to your ship, stop at the Church of St. Mary in the Vineyard and sample some local wines. Dine aboard and cruise through the night. (B, L, D)

Day 10Nuremberg

Tour Nuremberg; see Zeppelin Field and the Palace of Justice, site of the Nuremberg Trials. Then tour the castle grounds for a remarkable view of the city. Or, take our optional World War II history tour visiting the Documentation Center Museum. Free time before returning aboard for dinner and departure. (B, L, D)

Day 11Regensburg

Enjoy a guided walk featuring the Regensburg Town Hall, St. Peter’s Cathedral and the 12th-century Old Stone Bridge. Return to your ship for lunch, then your afternoon is at leisure. Dine aboard; cruise through the night. (B, L, D)

Day 12Passau & Linz

Dock in Passau, a 2,000-year-old city at the confluence of the Inn, Ilz and Danube Rivers. Take a walking tour through town. Then enjoy a special concert in St. Stephan’s Cathedral, home to Europe’s largest pipe organ.† Lunch aboard, then cruise to Linz. Enjoy free time to explore one of Austria’s leading cultural centers.

Day 13Melk & Dürnstein

Board a motorcoach taking you to the 900-year-old Benedictine abbey. Your guided tour takes you to see a collection of medieval manuscripts, ceiling and frescoes. Dine aboard and cruise to Dürnstein, through the scenic Wachau Valley. Enjoy a wine tasting, then cruise through the night. (B, L, D)

Day 14Vienna

Take a motorcoach tour along the Ringstrasse into the “City of Waltzes” and see the Opera House and Hofburg Palace. Tour Belvedere Palace; see its landscaped gardens and Austrian art collection featuring works by Gustav Klimt. Have lunch aboard, then afternoon free time. Dinner is aboard followed by an optional evening concert. (B, L, D)

Day 15Vienna

After breakfast, disembark and we will take you to the airport for your return flight.* (B)
