Day 4

Dijon, France & Burgundy Wine Tour

Set out into the wine-growing countryside of Burgundy on today’s full-day tour. In the Côte de Nuits, admire the stunning limestone vistas with the distinct terroir that produces the region’s fine pinot noir grapes. Continue to the Côte de Beaune, where lighter wines with a more flowery bouquet are made. There will be ample opportunities to taste fine vintages when we stop at one of Beaune’s famous cellars along the way. You will also enjoy a tour of the Hospices de Beaune Museum. Founded as the Hôtel-Dieu to care for the poor and ill after the Hundred Years’ War, it remained a hospital until as recently as the 1970s. It is one of the finest examples of French 15th-century architecture, complete with its decorative polychrome roof. (B)
